Sicky Boy

Erk Isaac is coughing so hard he is vomiting... lovely start to a morning really! I am keeping him home today so that means working or attempting to work from home. He is high maintenance when he is sick, actually he is high maintenance all the time so it is hard to get anything done. He has been on the smoke machine (Nebuliser) this morning and is now wrapped in a blanket watching TV.
I found this pic on the camera yesterday isn't he cute?
I made it my wallpaper at work and someone asked me if he was my favorite kid, ummm no. That would be Blair... LOL just kidding Marni and Laura!

Up Up and Away!

Well once again I am back... did you miss me? Of course you did... awww so sweet!
I finally downloaded the ballooning photos and here they are! The pics from my camera are always HUGE so I have just resized these ones so far.
We had to leave home at 3.30 am (yes I did say AM!) to drive to the site... it was chilly but very still and calm. We helped unpack the balloon and basket from the truck and then watched as they started the gas burners

It was awesome when they fired up the gas burner, so noisy! At this stage I was so excited I could hardly stand it, as I looked around I counted 16 people and as far as I knew the basket only held 10. I whispered to my friend Dallas that we should get ready to push people out of the way if necessary to make sure we got a place! She laughed but I was serious!

Isn't it beautiful? We were worried we would get a boring balloon so it was a relief to have such a gorgeous one!

Here is my friend just before we got in the basket, she wore red and I wore orange so we would stand out from the ground!

The ground crew just after we took off, there was no real sensation of flying or even moving really, it was quite amazing. Very peaceful and beautiful, just a gentle breeze blowing and complete silence when the gas burner wasn't blasting! That thing was LOUD!

Looking up into the balloon ... sigh so gorgeous.
Here I am trying to take a pic of myself and managing to look like a terrorist! We had to wear a hat or hood because the heat from the burner was uncomfortable.

The view of the countrysidewe went over, mostly farms and just the one small town.
The cows came out to welcome us back to the ground

YAY! we did it!

I'm baaaaack!

I must apologise to my many readers, all 2 of you, for my long absence. Work has been crazy this past 5 weeks and so much has happened.
I have some great photos of my ballooning trip! Yes I finally went! It was so awesome I cannot tell you how much I loved it!
I will do a longer post with pics soon.

We have booked our holiday to Queensland for June, how very exciting, I get to see my brother David and his beautiful family for the first time in 2 years! Yay! We are planning on doing some theme parks and lots of swimming and relaxing.

Keely took a tumble of Isaacs bed last week, hitting her head on the corner of his desk and splitting her eyebrow... erky it was nasty, I was terrific as I tended her wound, comforted her and Isaac, got all three of us dressed at record speed and got us to the Dr before 8.30. Dr used this awful purple glue to mend the cut then used butterfly strips to hold it further together. As soon as it was finished I just sank into a chair with a severs case of the knee wobbles... ick ick ick I hate when the kiddos get hurt! Keely was a champion all throughout, she even came into school with me to tell her class what had happened, she denied loving the attention but I am sure she did.
She spent the rest of the day on the couch being spoiled rotten. When Marni asked her how she was she said "I am so sad because that is my favorite eyebrow" umm ok.. :) What a kid. We are hoping it won't scar too badly but will have to wait and see.

I have work to do so had better go do it before I get in trouble...

erky perky

ooohhh guess who had food poisoning this weekend..... yes I was the lucky one!
Not only did my balloon trip get cancelled because of expected high winds but on Sunday I ate a dodgy BLT (Pete had the same thing and didn't get sick!) at a market and was sooooooo sick. The trip home was miserable with me lying down and feeling awful, lucky the worst symptoms (it's ok I am NOT sharing those details) hit after we arrived home. I was so sick Peter was going to call an ambulance at one point, slight overkill but at the time I was passed out and he panicked!
Needless to say I spent Monday huddled in a chair like an invalid and am now feeling better but haven't ventured to eat any solid food just yet.
One would hope that a weight loss would be a benefit of going through such a thing but as my scales are broken I can just pretend that I lost heaps.

Jacki Needs...

I copied this from another blog, go to google and type in your first name and needs. It was hard to do because apparently I spell my name wrong, there were way more results if I spelled it Jackie.
The results can be hilarious here are my favorite ones using Jacki

1/ Jacki needs to get into a rehab routine at home
ahhem well it seems my little secret is out!

2/ Jacki needs to evaluate the staff she has, profanity is common in the waiting room.
Well this is true, just yesterday Keely called Isaac a poophead.

3/ Jacki need to get her head out of the gutter
Wow thats harsh, I haven't been anywhere near the gutter for years! Oh except on Wii bowling that is...

4/ Jacki needs to leave already.
sniff, kicked off my own blog, I bet that never happens to Perez Hilton!

5/ Jacki needs a personal chef.
YES! Yes I do, indeedy I do! YAY!

6/ Jacki needs to work on her professionalism and the way she talks.
I am totally professional, well except when I did the happy dance because my boss resigned and I talk good and real proper an' stuff.

and my favs using Jacqueline

1/ Jacqueline needs a new cookware set, STAT!
That is totally true I can't have that new chef use my old stuff.

2/ Jacqueline needs to be recognised and appreciated.
That would be wonderful, you can start anytime!

Adventure is their middle name

my intrepid, brave explorers are sleeping out in a tent in the backyard tonight. Such excitement and a tinge of fear was in the air as they dragged half their wordly goods out to the tent, after I intervened they had to drag most of it back in again.
I am fairly confident they won't be needing 45 stuffed toys and 3 pairs of shoes out there.
I was so sure they would have high tailed it back inside by now that I left the back door open and all the lights on... it is after midnight and no sign of them.... Now I get to listen for rain all night while worrying that they are cold.
When I peeked in last they were snuggled up together like bugs in a rug Isaac snoring softly with his arm around Keely, I mean Ruby... awww so cute... if the tent were bigger than the average picnic blanket I would sneak in there with them!

Changing names

well it has been said on here before that my children have absorbed my name obsession, today was further proof.
Keely announced that she wanted to change her name because "Keely is a stupid name" and that "I am tired of spelling it to people" oops poor kid is traumatised apparently.
I told her that she can change her name if she wants too, all that is needed is her dad and I to agree and fill out a form. She thought about that for a minute then said that she just wanted to change her first name and keep the middle and last name. (I actually have been thinking about changing her middle name but that is another post) I asked her what name she would like instead and she wasn't sure, I told her that I wanted to name her Ruby, after her great grandmother) but her dad said no. She thought she might like to be known as Ruby from now on because her friend has a big sister named Ruby and "she is cool". Very generously she said that if daddy doesn't like he will be allowed to still call her Keely! Isaac wasn't to be out done and announced that he didn't like when his friends called him Isaac and he wanted them to call him Zac from now on! He told me that he wants to "sign the contract" as soon as possible!

Laura tells me her name is pretty common, Blair says she misses out on sales because people think her name is Clare and don't attribute the sale to the right person and Marni thinks her name is weird...
Maybe I should give up naming children and stick to naming pets, Tabitha and Tux seem to like their names just fine.
